Chipbreaker Down Cut Spiral

1/2"SH, 1/2"CD, 1-1/2"CL

Product Description

Materials: Natural woods, composites

Recommended RPM: 16,000-18,000 (max 24,000)

Each flute has small serrations to tear up the chips as the bit is cutting through the project. This bit has a feed rate in-between that of a roughing bit and a standard spiral router bit. The down cut spiral design provides the best top surface edges, ejecting chips away from the router when routing through material. This design also decreases the tendency to lift thin/small work pieces during CNC routing.

  • TOOL SPECS: Solid carbide, down cut, chipbreaker spiral with 1/2" cutting diameter, 1/2" shank, 1-1/2" cutting length, and 3-1/2" overall length for use in routers with a 1/2" collet.
  • DOWN CUT SPIRAL: Down Cut Spirals ensure a clean edge on the side of the material closest to the router. Perfect for clean, top edges in handheld routing or CNC applications.
  • CHIPBREAKERS: These spirals have brief interruptions along the cutting edge which allow for stringy materials to be cut into chips without wrapping around the bit or sacrificing cut quality.
  • HELIX: Ideal for shallow grooves, dados, and inlays with a handheld router. The spiral helix offers a shearing action for clean, crisp cuts while outperforming standard straight bits.
  • MATERIALS: Performs best with hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, MDF, and hard plastics for versatile woodworking applications.
  • MACHINES: Designed for hand-held routers, router tables, and CNC machines in a wide variety of applications.
